Spiritual Significance
Ammonite Fossil: Ammonites were one of the longest-surviving species totalling 350 million years. This was due to its ability to outwit and outlast countless predatory species through strength and perseverance. It is now thought to activate our intuition and voice of reason when we are being taken advantage of or preyed upon by others. It can provide the guidance needed to steer clear of harmful situations while encouraging acceptance of what has been done to us in the past.
Advantages of Copper
Copper was the first discovered metal on Earth. As the second-most used metal to date it is the base component in alloy metals like brass and bronze. It’s durability and unique colouring makes it ideal for jewelry making. It is anti-microbial and anti-fungal which keeps it clean and hypoallergenic (unless a copper allergy is present).
Copper Care Instructions:
Copper can be sensitive to external elements over time which may cause green staining of the skin. This is completely normal and harmless and is easily washed off with soap and water. With the following care copper can remain shiny and bright:
- Take copper off before showering or swimming.
- Do not wear during chemical exposure of any kind.
- Clean with lukewarm soap and water with a soft bristled toothbrush regularly
- When tarnished, if the piece DOES NOT include a set stone, soak copper in lemon juice or vinegar for 20 minutes.
- Make sure copper is completely dry before storing as it can tarnish when exposed to air and moisture.
- Seal in an airtight bag (Ziplock) and store in a cool, dry place. Wrapping in anti-tarnish paper before storage would help also.
